SUMMARY:Dolomites Sky Race
DESCRIPTION:The Dolomyths Run Skyrace is an exciting mountain running event held annually in Canazei\, Italy\, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Dolomites. Scheduled for Sunday\, 12 July 2026 the race challenges participants with a 22-kilometer course featuring 1\,750 meters of elevation gain. Starting from Piazza Marconi in the heart of Canazei at 1\,450 meters\, the route ascends all the way to the summit of Piz Boè at 3\,152 meters\, passing through steep\, technical terrain including the screes of Forcella Pordoi and the challenging Val Lastiès before descending back to the town. \nKnown for its difficulty and stunning scenery\, the Dolomyths Run Skyrace is part of the prestigious “Golden Trail National Series” and draws elite trail runners from around the globe. Participation is capped at 900 runners to preserve the natural environment and ensure safety. Cut-off times are enforced at key points along the course\, including Forcella Pordoi and the Boè Refuge\, with a total time limit of 5.5 hours. \nThe event is part of a full weekend of trail running in the region. On Saturday\, 12 July 2025\, two additional races take place: the 42 km Fassa Trail and the 12 km Junior Trail\, offering something for a wide range of runners. \nThe Dolomyths Run Skyrace combines extreme athletic challenge with breathtaking alpine views\, making it one of the most iconic skyrunning trail events in Europe.
