Cape Town Marathon

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, first staged in its current format in 2007, is a premier road running event held annually in October in Cape Town, South Africa. It features a flat, fast, and scenic 42.2 km course that begins and ends in Green Point Stadium, weaving through iconic landmarks like Table Mountain, the Castle of Good Hope, District Six, and the Atlantic. The marathon continues to break records: in 2024, Abdisa Tola Adera set a men’s course record at 2:08:15, and Glenrose Xaba set the women’s at 2:22:22.
